Chinese Gravity-1 rocket launches new satellites from sea
China on Wednesday sent a Gravity-1 carrier rocket into space from waters off the coast of Shanghai in east China, marking a complete success for this flight test mission.
The Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center launched the commercial rocket at 10:54 a.m. (Beijing Time), placing nine satellites into their designated orbits.
The Gravity-1 carrier rocket made its debut flight in January 2024.
U.S. forces start more strikes on Iranian military targets
U.S. forces launched more strikes against Iranian military targets on Wednesday, according to the U.S. Central Command.
The latest airstrikes began at 5:30 p.m. Eastern Time on Wednesday, the command announced on X.
"The mission will continue to further degrade Iran's ability to threaten civilian mariners and commercial vessels transiting regional waters," said the command.
Earlier on Wednesday, U.S. President Donald Trump threatened to destroy a bridge or power plant in Iran each time it shoots at a ship in the Strait of Hormuz.
Iran says launched new retaliatory strikes against U.S. bases in Jordan, Bahrain, Kuwait
The Iranian army said its forces launched retaliatory drone strikes against U.S. bases and assets in Jordan, Bahrain and Kuwait on Wednesday.
In statements published on its website, the army said its forces hit buildings housing U.S. forces and U.S. equipment depots at the al-Azraq base in Jordan, and targeted large U.S. equipment depots and silos as well as heavy aircraft maintenance hangars at the Shaikh Isa Air Base in Bahrain.
It said its forces also launched drone attacks on U.S. military units in Kuwait, hitting ammunition depots and logistical equipment at Camp Doha.
Iran warns to stop oil exports from region, retaliate in kind if U.S. attacks infrastructure
Iran's main military command, Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, on Wednesday warned that if the United States attacks Iranian infrastructure, Iran will block all oil exports from West Asia and target oil, gas, electricity, and economic infrastructure across the region, according to media reports.
The warning in a statement carried by Iranian media came in response to U.S. President Donald Trump's renewed threat of "bombing" Iran's bridges and power plants.
Yemen's Houthi group claims attack on 2 Saudi oil tankers in Red Sea
Yemen's Houthi group said on Thursday that it had carried out a military operation targeting two Saudi oil tankers in the Red Sea, claiming the vessels had violated the group's recently announced maritime restrictions.
In a statement aired by the group's Al-Masirah television, Houthi military spokesman Yahya Sarea said Houthi forces targeted the tankers, identified as ENCELIA and LAYLA, using "ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as drones."

Ebola death toll in Africa outbreak surpasses 1,000
The death toll from the ongoing Ebola outbreak in Africa surpassed 1,000 on Wednesday, according to the latest figures released by health authorities in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and Uganda.
The DRC Ministry of Health said in its latest situation report released on Wednesday that the country had recorded 2,473 confirmed Ebola cases, including 999 deaths, as of July 20.
Uganda has reported 20 confirmed cases, including two deaths, bringing the combined death toll in the two affected countries to 1,001.
Ukrainian president appoints new General Staff chief
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Wednesday appointed Major General Ihor Skybiuk as chief of the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, replacing Andrii Hnatov.
In a post on X, Zelensky described Skybiuk as "a highly experienced officer" who fought alongside Mykhailo Drapatyi, whom he appointed as the new commander-in-chief on Tuesday.
Skybiuk, 49, previously served as deputy chief of the General Staff.
