Hong Kong's visitor arrivals exceed 40 mln in first 9 months

HONG KONG, Oct. 15 (Xinhua)

Hong Kong recorded approximately 40.7 million visitor arrivals in the first nine months of 2026, up 12 percent year on year, the Hong Kong Tourism Board announced on Thursday.

From January to September, visitor arrivals from the Chinese mainland reached 31,901,686, representing a year-on-year increase of 14 percent.

In September alone, visitor arrivals reached approximately 4.03 million, up 22 percent compared with the same period last year. Driven by the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday and a series of festive events held in Hong Kong, visitor arrivals from the Chinese mainland increased by nearly 30 percent year-on-year in September. ■
